The CAPT Educational Online Community offers online space to foster connections between CAPT’s education partners and promote the exchange of information for the mutual benefit of all participants. Educators can share valued resources, join in-person discussions and meetings, and see what other PTEC educators are doing on a daily basis.
Users can register and log on in a secure environment that will protect information exchanged within the community from unauthorized access. Once logged in to the community, a user can choose from the following items:
- File Exchange
Educators can share files with others by simply uploading to the site. Files can be documents, pictures, spreadsheets, lesson plans, test questions, and more. Once they are uploaded, other users can see and download the files. However, only the owner of the file can modify or delete the uploaded file.
- Discussion Board
The discussion board is similar to a blog. On this board users canpost tips, advice, and recommendations for other educators. Any registered user can start or post to a discussion.
- Web Links
Educators can place useful links here for others to access, much like "Favorites" or "Bookmarks" in an Internet browser.
- Blog
Every other week a different guest will be invited to initiate a blog topic and educators who are reading the blog can post their comments for everyone to see. Archived blogs from previous weeks can be searched by topic to locate specific subjects.
- User Community Address Book
By using the address book, educators can see at a glance if they have any messages and leave messages for others in the community.
