Here are some tips to help you figure out which file format is right for you.
First, if you are going to use the logo in a piece such as a poster, brochure, flyer, etc. then you will want to pick from one of the print formats. Both print formats (EPS and TIF) are high quality images with transparent backgrounds. The main difference is that the EPS file is a vectored image and the TIF file is a rastered image.
If your use of the logo is intended for a website or a computer-based program, then the web formats will work better. The web formats are smaller sized files intended to increase download speed. The difference between the two web formats is that the GIF file has a transparent background, while the JPG has a white background.
